imaginary films 2000 ltd - Crew for hire
When watching a film we only use two senses, sight and hearing. To me, sound is half the experience of watching a movie. As an independent filmmaker I realised that always the hardest crew person to find was an experienced and capable sound recordist, probably since the job is perceived as being less glamorous or prestigious than being a D.O.P. or other heads of department on a production. Often little thought or care is given to recording high quality sound on set, this leads to highly expensive additional production expense when in post i.e. ADR* and can make the difference as to whether your film is picked up for distribution or the sales agent of distributor passing on your film for a similar one that has better professionally acceptable sound. With over twenty years of on-set and location experience we can provide you with professional sound crew that will ensure your production runs efficiently, to industry standards with the correct sound deliverables recorded.
We provide two camera and sound crew options
One man crew with full sound recording or camera kit £250 per day + VAT + Travel
Two man crew with full sound recording or camera kit £450 per day + VAT + Travel
Sound kit: Sennheiser rifle mic, rycote blimp, fluffy & boom pole, SQN mixer, two sets of professional film radio mics with high quality lav mics, headphones and digital recording device.
The two man crew option provides a sound recordist along with an experienced boom operator sound assistant, which will lead to faster set-ups and less shots ruined when it is noticed when filming (or worse in post) that the boom or it's shadow were in shot during takes due to an experienced boom op being used.
Camera kit: Either a full Canon 5D Mark II kit with lenses and tripod or alternatively a Panasonic HG-HF101 with lenses and tripod.
* Audio Dialogue Replacement the process of re-recording the original set or location dialogue for the purposes of obtaining cleaner acceptable sound. ADR may still be required when selling a film internationally, where a dub to another language will be necessary. Clean location sound atmos's at this time will become an essential prerequisite.
